Twenty-three years ago, Iran's Caspian beaches, such as this one near Bandar-e Anzali thronged with vacationers who enjoyed international-style ameneties. The revolution of 1979 brought many changes, including segregation of the sexes. During the beach season, the barrier seen in this photo is used to hold up screens that separate men from women.
